Let me shed some light on this ultra-potent, very interesting drug for bodybuilding and performance-enhancing purposes. I based my review on vast empirical data gathered from thousands of athletes we've been serving using anabolic steroids in general and dozens who have been using methyl-tren under my inspection.

First, Methyl-trenbolone (Methyltrienolone) is not just an oral form of Trenbolone. This steroid has distinct traits, benefits, and side effects compared to Trenbolone. Just as Dianabol is practically the Boldenone molecule with a methylated group in the 17-alpha position, or Superdrol is a Masteron with a methylated group in the 17-alpha position, it doesn't mean that Dianabol is an oral version of Boldenone or Superdrol is just Masteron that works orally, these drugs despite the structural similarities have simply different traits.

Chemistry and Real-Life Experience

Methyl-trenbolone has an astonishing anabolic impact. It was rated (in experiments on castrated rats) as 200-300 times more anabolically potent than testosterone and about 60 times more androgenic. Indeed, Methyl-trenbolone is one of the only steroids (besides the legendary Cheque Drops) where the effective dosage for humans is measured in micrograms (not milligrams). What we can observe from these rates is that Methyl-trenbolone, like its non-methylated brother Trenbolone, has a relatively high anabolic to androgenic ratio. This means it's much more anabolic than androgenic, or in other terms, it has much higher effects on muscle tissues than on androgenic tissues such as the prostate or scalp. This trait is typical of all 19-nortestosterone members, which are chemically converted when interacting with the 5-alpha reductase enzyme to less potent steroids. Unlike testosterone, which is converted to the three times more potent Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), 19-nortestosterone steroids like Methyl-trenbolone do not undergo such conversion, leading to a relatively lower androgenic impact compared to their anabolic benefits.

Mechanism of Action and Receptor Affinity

Methyl-trenbolone has the highest affinity to the androgen receptor (AR) of all known steroids. It's essential to understand that while all anabolic steroids interact with the same AR, their different affinities to this receptor partially explain the differences in their impacts. Methyl-trenbolone was used as a standard against which other anabolic steroids' affinity was tested in various studies due to its exceptional AR affinity. This is a key factor in the high anabolic activity of Methyl-trenbolone.

In reported experiments, the next highest AR affinity was for Trenbolone, followed by DHT, which has low activity in muscle tissue as it's degraded immediately in muscle tissue, unlike androgenic tissues such as the prostate. Following DHT, Nandrolone (Deca), Testosterone, and various 17-alpha steroids like Stanozolol (Winstrol), Methandrostenolone (Dianabol), and Fluoxymesterone (Halotestin) were listed, with Anadrol showing nearly zero AR affinity. These facts help us understand the function and effects of anabolic steroids. For example, Anadrol has high anabolic activity but negligible AR affinity, indicating a different mechanism of action. This fascinating fact highlights what bodybuilders have known for decades - that combining different steroids yields a synergistic effect, thus the sum of combining different steroids wisely is higher than its parts.

Interaction with SHBG and Progesterone Receptor

Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) is a glycoprotein produced primarily in the liver, binding to sex hormones like testosterone and estradiol (a form of estrogen) and regulating their bioavailability. Methyl-trenbolone has very low affinity for SHBG, less than 5% of that of testosterone and less than 1% of DHT, meaning most of it remains free and active in the bloodstream, contributing to its high potency. This trait is similar to Anadrol, which also has low SHBG affinity but differs due to Anadrol's negligible AR affinity.

Methyl-trenbolone has a high affinity for the progesterone receptor, double that of progesterone itself. It shares this trait with other 19-nortestosterone steroids but with much higher affinity. Progesterone has intricate interactions with other sex hormones, and some side effects of progestogenic steroids like Nandrolone and Trenbolone include decreased libido, mood swings, and impotence (referred to as "Deca Dick"). However, observations indicate that Methyl-trenbolone does not have these pronounced effects. Users report relatively balanced energy and mood levels, no adverse effects on erection or libido, and no gynecomastia, possibly because Methyl-trenbolone interacts differently with the progesterone receptor in certain tissues than progesteron, same as nolvadex for instance interacts avidly with the estrogen receptor but doesn't activate it like estrogen does.

Cortisol Antagonism

Methyl-trenbolone has a high affinity for the corticosteroid receptor, antagonizing cortisol's effects. It occupies the receptor but does not trigger cortisol's catabolic cascade, thus preventing cortisol’s catabolic impact. This action, coupled with its direct anabolic effects, makes Methyl-trenbolone an effective muscle and strength builder.

Liver Toxicity

Methyl-trenbolone is highly liver-toxic, preventing its approval as a drug for human use despite its high anabolic potential. It should be used only for short periods, typically for special purposes, due to its extreme effectiveness yet toxic nature. Dosages of 2-5 mg per day are recommended, with regular monitoring of liver enzyme levels. Its liver toxicity can be compared to 40-100 mg of Dianabol or 30-40 mg of Halotestin.

Combining Methyl-Trenbolone with Other Steroids

Methyl-trenbolone can be combined with any other steroid, but should not be combined with other oral steroids to avoid compounded liver stress. It can be effectively paired with long-acting testosterone esters like enanthate and cypionate for maintaining high serum anabolic levels while using Methyl-trenbolone pre-workout for an additional boost. It can also be combined with fast-acting testosterone-no-ester or other anabolic steroids like Primobolan, DHB, or Boldenone for enhanced effects.
